Nanwan Monkey Island & Daidai Island

The managed attraction combines a cableway or ferry connection with a macaque reserve. Keep food secured, follow staff instructions and never feed, touch, tease or corner an animal. Give macaques space and supervise children closely.

Keep bags closed and hands out of pockets in the macaque area. If an animal approaches or jumps onto you, do not shout, hit it or reach into a bag; open your empty hands and wait for staff direction. The park includes steps and is awkward with a stroller, so confirm the accessible route before committing to the standard circuit.

Current baseline and booking check

The operator's live page in September 2026 lists the macaque park at 08:00–17:00, with ticket windows closing at 16:30. Its displayed adult reference price is CNY 147, but combinations, age categories and seasonal terms differ. Use the official operator and selected-date checkout rather than freezing that figure.

Confirm whether the product uses cableway, ferry plus vehicle, or allows one in each direction. Also verify passport support, child-height category, last entry, performance operation and partial-refund rule. A product scanned at one attraction may no longer permit a partial refund for the unused second attraction.

Understand the product

“Monkey Island,” Daidai Island, cableway, ferry, shuttle, harbor cruise and performances may appear in different combinations. Confirm what your dated ticket includes and the final return time. The cableway's long view over Xincun Harbor and the Danjia fish farms is a major reason to choose it, but some products substitute a ferry; read the transport line before paying.

The operator's current Daidai-only flow is Monkey Island North Pier → ferry → outward sightseeing vehicle → Daidai Island → return vehicle → Monkey Island South Pier → ferry. A combined product can insert the macaque park or harbor cruise, so photograph the product route and timed sailing before entering. Do not follow online “free entry” routes into village roads, beaches or feeding areas that are outside the managed visitor circuit.

For the macaque park alone, allow about 1.5–2.5 hours including transport and queues. A combined Monkey Island and Daidai product can use most of a half day; the operator's own double-island example budgets roughly 80 minutes for the macaque area and 110 minutes for Daidai before holiday queues.

Choose the cableway for the elevated view across Xincun Harbor when it is operating and heights suit the group. Choose the ferry-and-vehicle chain when the cableway queue, weather or accessibility makes it preferable. Staff routing on the day controls.

Move through the macaque area safely

Secure snacks, drinks, loose plastic bags and shiny objects before arrival. Do not open a backpack in front of an animal. Stay on the visitor path, give dominant animals space and let staff separate people from a conflict.

Performances are not necessary to understand the reserve. If animal welfare matters to you, spend the visit observing macaque social behaviour and habitat rather than organising the day around a show. Do not repeat claims about population or “wildness” without the operator's current conservation interpretation.

Add Daidai carefully

Daidai offers a long beach landscape but needs the ferry-and-vehicle chain and more time. On the operator's suggested walk, turn right first for Lovers' Cliff, then return and continue left through the boat-themed beach areas. Treat photo installations as secondary to shade, hydration and the ride back. The operator prohibits private swimming and climbing the sea cliffs; use only open shore sections. Check the current official product route on the travel date.

The current Daidai-only checkout lists 08:00–17:20 with last entry at 15:00, but a combination containing the harbor trip can require an earlier 14:20 cutoff. These times demonstrate why the exact product matters; recheck them rather than applying one cutoff to every ticket.

Pair it with Xincun, not another island

The mainland ticket area sits beside Xincun Harbor. A short harbor walk or early meal can fit before or after the managed attraction when the return is secure. Boundary Island is a separate ferry day and should not be added to the same schedule.

Skip Nanwan when anyone cannot manage the confirmed transport and steps, is highly anxious around free-moving macaques, or when storms interrupt the cableway and ferry chain. A resort beach day is a sensible replacement, not a failed itinerary.
