Keyan, Jianhu and Luzhen: use the water link or accept a long walk

This is one large scenic product with three different layers: quarry and carved-rock heritage at Keyan, Jianhu's water landscape, and Luzhen, a modern environment inspired by Lu Xun's fiction. Luzhen is not an untouched historic town, and the three names are not adjacent rooms that can be completed without transport.

Current ticket and seasonal hours

The operator's April 2026 service information lists ¥95 adult / ¥55 child-or-senior for Keyan and Jianhu with one large sightseeing-boat trip. A current marketplace product shows a ¥90 adult baseline for Keyan/Jianhu plus one boat, while a package with the 13:30 Luzhen theatre performance appears around ¥196 adult / ¥170 concession. These are different date/channel products, not a price to average.

The published seasonal baseline is 08:30–17:00, last entry 16:30 in summer, and 08:30–16:30, last entry 16:00 in winter. Luzhen night operation can extend later when a named product runs. Verify the operator's current checkout page, included boat, show seat and exit before buying.

The practical sequence

For a morning arrival, follow the current official sequence from Keyan → Jianhu → Luzhen. Read the quarry landscape first, use the included large boat to cross the water layer, then finish in the literary-themed town. Visitors report roughly four hours before a meal.

Those who skipped the water connection walked 3–4 km over several hours and risked a long return to the start. The boat is not merely decorative; it can function as internal transport. Confirm its boarding pier, last departure and the exit you will actually use. An afternoon arrival may work better in the reverse direction when the operator explicitly recommends it.

Boat and performance choices

Small Wupeng boats may be exposed to sun and are not necessarily the same as the large included transfer. The larger connection can save significant walking. Ask whether a “boat included” product means the transport boat, a small experiential ride or both.

Visitors divide on the Luzhen show: strong literary opening, visual staging and finale for some; uneven middle and high package cost for others. Buy it only after confirming the current title, 13:30 or other session, duration, seat, language value and whether a delayed boat can make you miss entry.

Heat, walking and exits

Even with the boat, expect several kilometres of walking and extended outdoor exposure. Carry water, use sun protection and do not choose the smallest open boat at midday solely for photographs. If a boat or shuttle stops, ask for the shortest legal route to the intended exit rather than improvising across closed paths.

This outward site deserves a half day. Do not put a timed central-city show immediately afterward; traffic and internal transport can stretch the return.

Verdict

Worth a half day for landscape and scale. The ¥90–95 base and ¥196 show package solve different needs. Skip it if you want a preserved old town, cannot tolerate long walking when water transport changes or do not value the fictional Luzhen layer.
