Langzhong
Langzhong is a living walled-era town held by a bend of the Jialing River. Its value comes from the relationship between courtyards, examination culture, Three Kingdoms memory, towers and the surrounding hills. Start with the old-city route, then choose two paid interiors rather than buying every possible doorway.
Two days is the right first visit
On day one, walk quiet lanes, Han Huanhou Shrine and one tower before a riverside evening. On day two, visit the Gongyuan, then cross or drive to the Baita and Jinpingshan viewpoints.
Stay in a courtyard with verified access
A courtyard inn makes early and late walks easy, but stone lanes, stairs and vehicle limits matter. Confirm the drop-off point, luggage help, room heating or cooling, private bathroom and whether the room is in a genuinely historic wing.
Commercial streets are only one layer
Recent visitors consistently criticize repetitive souvenir and food shops on the main axes. Leave those streets, look for residential lanes and give time to the architecture. Compare prices before buying packaged beef, vinegar or multi-attraction products.
