Mount Siguniang: choose the valley that gives you the right mountain day
Mount Siguniang (四姑娘山, Sìgūniang Shān), also called Four Sisters Mountain, brings four sharp peaks above three very different visitor valleys. Its great strength is choice: Shuangqiao can deliver a broad alpine day with a sightseeing bus and selective walks; Changping places forest and mountain views at the centre of a walking day; Haizi opens onto grassland viewpoints and, for properly prepared visitors, specialist high-country routes.
These are three separate products with separate gates and tickets, not one park loop. The most satisfying first trip uses Mount Siguniang Town as a two-night base, makes Shuangqiao the first full day, then chooses either Changping or Haizi according to energy and interest.

A two-night first trip
Arrival day — Use the town as the base. Mount Siguniang Town sits between the valley approaches and is still commonly called Rilong in older listings. Confirm the exact property pin, the next morning's correct gate and the reservation document before sleeping.
Full day — Start with Shuangqiao. The bus carries most of the long valley gain, so the day can be shaped around views and selected walking sections instead of a point-to-point hike.
Second morning or day — Add one contrast. Changping is the stronger choice for forest and sustained walking. Haizi is the stronger choice for an open grassland viewpoint or a specialist mountain objective under the current rules. Leave enough road margin if departing that afternoon.
How each valley earns its day
Shuangqiao: the broad alpine introduction
Shuangqiao is the easiest valley to recommend first because the sightseeing bus carries visitors from the entrance at about 2,900 m toward Red Forest at about 3,840 m. That rapid gain opens a large mountain landscape without requiring a long ascent on foot, while the stops allow selective boardwalk and valley walks.
Use the bus to reach the upper valley, pause to judge visibility, altitude and time, then commit to one meaningful upper walk. On the return, choose only the lower stops that add a new landscape. Changping: forest first, distance by choice
Changping begins with an official 7 km connector, after which the visit becomes a walking product. A front-valley sampler gives forest, water and mountain atmosphere without turning the day into an endurance target. An extended forest day continues farther with a firm turnaround time. The full continuation to Muluozi is about 12 km one way after the connector and suits a prepared long day rather than an automatic first visit.
Regulated horse service can be an optional transport layer, booked through the official operator or counter. Confirm the day's endpoints, one-way or return arrangement, availability, insurance and live price before choosing it. Read the Changping Valley guide before setting the turnaround.
Haizi: an open viewpoint or a specialist continuation
Haizi has no sightseeing bus, so even the ordinary visitor product begins on foot. A short front-valley hike makes sense for open grassland and mountain views. The farther lake and high-country objectives are a different commitment, requiring the time, preparation and current permissions appropriate to the route.
Some Haizi outdoor routes reopened in April 2026, but that does not turn every undeveloped route into ordinary visitor access. Use the Haizi Valley guide to separate the short sightseeing product from registered outdoor activity.
2026 tickets, entry windows and reservations
The current official baselines below were checked on 21 August 2026. Peak season runs 1 April–30 November; confirm the live product and selected visit date before payment.

Admission uses a dated, real-name reservation with limited inventory through the official Abatour mini-program or website. The original document used for the booking must match the reservation. A ticket for one valley does not grant admission to the other two.
International visitors are received, but the public notices reviewed did not document a reproducible passport checkout and gate-entry flow. Before paying, confirm the accepted passport field, payment method and staffed entry procedure, and carry the original document used for the reservation.
Use Mount Siguniang Town as the base
Use the correct entrance pin rather than a broad destination marker:

AMap models checked on 21 August 2026 placed the civic anchor about 6.9 km/14 minutes by car from Shuangqiao, 1.8 km/6 minutes from Changping and 2.4 km/7 minutes from Haizi. No public-transit route was returned for these three models. These are point-to-point planning estimates, not a promise of shuttle, taxi or walkable road conditions; the result changes with the exact lodging pin.
Ordinary valley days and registered outdoor routes are different
Ordinary admission covers the standard sightseeing product for the selected valley. Camping, mountaineering, traverses and other outdoor routes may require a separate outdoor ticket, registration and guide under the current rules. Only use routes officially open for that activity; unopened and undeveloped zones remain outside the visitor product.
Mount Siguniang is part of the Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage property in 2006, and the wider landscape received geopark designation in 2026. These designations describe conservation significance; they do not promise a wild panda sighting.
Book the exact product
Compare current Mount Siguniang valley tickets and included-tour options on Trip.com, then verify the valley name, visit date and every inclusion. Do not treat the listing as a three-valley pass or assume transport, insurance, meals or intercity transfer are included.
For a one-day return from Chengdu, compare the exact Shuangqiao day-tour product. The dated join-in option included Shuangqiao admission, Chengdu round-trip transport and insurance. Its Package A excluded the scenic sightseeing bus while Package B included it, and the service used meeting points rather than universal hotel pickup. Check the selected package before payment.
Search hotels near Mount Siguniang on Trip.com, then compare each property's exact pin with the chosen valley entrance. The search label alone does not guarantee a particular gate distance, pickup service or amenity.
High altitude, weather and live operations
Mount Siguniang Town sits at roughly 3,160–3,200 m, and Shuangqiao's bus can gain nearly 1,000 m from the entrance to the upper valley. Give the arrival evening a gentle pace, start the first scenic day conservatively, carry warm layers plus rain and sun protection, and keep food and water accessible.
If headache, dizziness or breathing difficulty develops, stop increasing exertion, reassess the day and ask scenic-area staff or medical services for help when needed. Weather can change visibility, temperature, trail access and transport dispatch; preserve enough time to follow on-site instructions and reach the exit before the day's operation closes.
Pair the valleys deliberately
For most first trips, Shuangqiao + Changping gives the strongest contrast between vehicle-assisted alpine scale and a forest walking day. Choose Shuangqiao + a short Haizi visit when the open grassland viewpoint matters more than a longer forest continuation. Return to the Aba Prefecture planning hub before adding Bipenggou or another base.
