Longjiang First Bay and Wusuli Shoal

Longjiang First Bay and Wusuli Shoal (龙江第一湾·乌苏里浅滩) form one remote road-and-shuttle outing northwest of Beihong Village. Wusuli is the brief geographic-marker stop; the bay is the main landscape experience, earned by a sustained wooden-stair climb to a view over the great bend in the Heilongjiang River.

Allow most of a day from Arctic Village or build the sites into a private transfer toward Beihong. This is not a pair of quick roadside viewpoints: forest roads, the internal shuttle and weather all control the timing.

Follow the shuttle sequence

At the visitor area, confirm which sections are open and the final return shuttle before boarding. The usual sequence reported by recent visitors and reflected in an official regional route is:

  1. ride the sightseeing vehicle to Wusuli Shoal for the northern-point marker and river landscape;
  2. continue by vehicle to Longjiang First Bay;
  3. climb the designated wooden stairs through the forest to the main overlook; and
  4. descend on the signed route and return by sightseeing vehicle.

Wusuli needs little time unless visibility is exceptional. Protect your energy and daylight for the bay. Recent reports describe a climb of roughly a thousand steps, with about an hour needed at an unhurried pace including photographs; another visitor managed the ascent in 20–30 minutes. The difference is a useful reminder to budget for your own knees, ice and crowding rather than chasing a quoted time.

Tickets, shuttle and same-day checks

A December 2025 government pricing order sets the scenic sightseeing vehicle at CNY 60 per person and says it must be sold voluntarily, without forced ticket, insurance or other bundles. Treat admission as a separate live price: an older official roadbook listed CNY 50, but that figure is not current enough to promise. Ask the cashier to identify each component before paying.

The current regional A-level attraction list classifies Longjiang First Bay as 4A and gives 135 0456 5518 as the contact number. Call on the morning of travel to confirm road access, shuttle operation, admission, last return and whether flood, snow, ice or fire controls have closed any section. The region's 2026 flood notice warns that strong convective weather can make mountain and riverside roads unsafe.

Trip.com has an exact informational shelf for the bay, but no dependable standalone ticket inventory was verified during this review. We therefore do not send you to a generic tour or lower-priority partner simply to create a booking link.

Do not confuse First Bay with Arctic Island

Some route posts present Arctic Island or “Arctic Bay” as an alternative. A recent driver report describes substantial extra driving, different gates and different administrative areas; at the time, it did not provide the same complete elevated river-bend view. It is not a shortcut within this ticket. Choose one route before departure and have the driver name every included stop in Chinese.

This is also a border zone. Carry your passport, remain on open paths, obey photography signs and do not walk onto the river or toward restricted facilities. Drone use should never be assumed permissible.

Pack for a remote day

Bring water, a simple meal, rain or snow protection, traction appropriate to the forecast, and an offline map. Food and toilets are limited after the main visitor facilities, while mobile signal can be weak. If stairs are wet or icy, the panorama is not worth a fall; turn back or skip the climb.

The cleanest onward plan is a short Beihong Village stop or overnight, followed by Arctic Village the next day. Check the current regional attraction guidance and return to the Mohe guide for the wider route.
