Mohe is a remote border-and-taiga journey whose value is winter atmosphere, river geography and long northern light. The aurora is a rare weather event, never a bookable guarantee.

How many days
- Three days: arrival, Arctic Village and one northern road day.
- Four days: add Beihong Village and weather buffer.
- Cut first: the longest river loop before sacrificing safe roads or a flight/train connection.
Choose your route
- Arctic Village for services, riverfront and the managed 'find north' route.
- Beihong Village for a quieter settlement and taiga setting.
- Longjiang First Bay–Wusuli Shoal only as a full licensed road loop with winter readiness.
The anchors that earn the trip
Transport and base
Mohe airport, railway station, Xilinji town and the villages are far apart. Arrange pickup, winter-rated vehicle, driver rest and emergency margin; mobile ride-hailing is not a regional transport plan.
Weather and margin
Winter can bring extreme cold, ice fog and road closure; summer brings long daylight, insects and forest-fire controls. Aurora depends on solar activity, clear sky and darkness.
Where to go next
Most travelers return through Harbin. Do not attach Mohe to eastern Heilongjiang in a short trip; the distances consume separate travel days.
