Where to buy Pop Mart and Labubu in China
The best place to buy LABUBU in China is an official POP MART store with the item actually in stock, a receipt, and enough time to inspect the packaging before you leave. A larger flagship can offer a better brand experience and a broader display, but it does not guarantee a scarce release. A ROBOSHOP vending machine is convenient, but it gives you less help with questions, defects and departure-tax-refund paperwork. A reseller may have the exact item; it also creates the highest authenticity, condition and price risk.
That distinction matters because “LABUBU” is not one permanent shelf product. POP MART's official THE MONSTERS page identifies LABUBU as a character created by artist Kasing Lung within THE MONSTERS world. POP MART sells changing series and formats: blind-box vinyl figures, vinyl-plush pendants, larger dolls, fixed-design collectibles, accessories and collaborations. A store can be full of POP MART products while having none of the exact LABUBU series in your screenshot.
Use this guide to choose a channel, city and fallback before you start crossing town. Treat stock, restock messages, queues, prices and purchase limits as live information. They can change between a morning notification and your arrival.

Store displays and inventory change. Use this scene only as buying context, then verify the exact product and branch through official channels.
The two-minute decision
| Your real objective | Best first channel | What to avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Buy any genuine POP MART collectible you like | Official full store | Spending the day chasing one viral item |
| Find one exact current LABUBU release | Check the exact Chinese product name in the official China channel, then ask a staffed official store | Treating a social post or map listing as live stock |
| Buy quickly near a hotel or station | Official ROBOSHOP, if the displayed series suits you | Expecting staff help, tax documents or easy defect handling at the machine |
| Experience the brand and photograph themed spaces | A flagship in Shanghai or POP LAND in Beijing | Buying admission to POP LAND only because you assume it has scarce stock |
| Buy a retired or opened item | A specialist resale shop only if you understand condition and authentication | QR-only confidence, cash without a receipt, or a price justified by “future value” |
| Claim departure tax refund | A participating staffed store that confirms eligibility before payment | Assuming every branch, mall tenant or machine participates |
If you like several ordinary designs in a blind-box series, one or two sealed boxes can be a fun souvenir. If you want only one design, buy a fixed-design product or walk away. Blind boxes do not become better value because a hidden edition appears in a resale chart.
Know what you are asking for
Save a screenshot from an official channel showing the complete series and format name. Product families that look similar can differ in material, size, release region and sales method. Staff need more than “the brown Labubu.”
Identify these four fields:
- Character or IP: LABUBU belongs to THE MONSTERS (精灵天团 / THE MONSTERS). Do not assume every pointed-ear character is LABUBU.
- Series: the words after THE MONSTERS or LABUBU usually distinguish the release. Keep the Chinese series name if the official listing provides one.
- Format: blind-box figure (手办盲盒), vinyl-plush pendant (搪胶毛绒挂件), plush doll (毛绒公仔), fixed-design figure, or a larger MEGA collectible.
- Purchase unit: one random box, a full set, or one disclosed design. A “whole set” can still have release-specific rules, so ask what is guaranteed rather than relying on the carton shape.
Useful opening questions are:
- 请问这款有现货吗? — Is this exact item in stock?
- 这是哪个系列?请给我看完整商品名。 — Which series is this? Please show me the complete product name.
- 这是单个盲盒、整盒,还是指定款? — Is this one blind box, a full set, or a chosen design?
- 今天每人限购几个? — What is today’s purchase limit per person?
Do not ask only “有 LABUBU 吗?” A yes may mean a phone case, cup or unpopular older accessory when you wanted a current plush pendant.
Choose the buying channel before the city
Official full store: the default for a visitor
A staffed official store gives you the strongest combination of authentic supply, product comparison, payment record and practical recourse. You can ask whether the package seal is intact, confirm the exact format, inspect the exterior and request the store’s return and defect process. If tax refund matters, this is also the only sensible place to establish whether the specific branch and transaction can issue the required documents.
The trade-off is popularity. A large store can be crowded and still have no current LABUBU. Visit because it fits your route and offers a useful selection, then use a fallback rule: after one direct stock question and one browse, buy a different item you genuinely like or continue your day.
ROBOSHOP: convenient, authentic, limited support
POP MART lists official ROBOSHOP vending machines among its official sales channels. They suit a low-stakes purchase when the screen clearly shows the series and price. Before paying, photograph the machine number or location and the product screen, confirm the pickup door is clear, and keep the digital payment record.
A machine is a weak choice for a fragile, expensive or tax-refund-dependent purchase. It cannot explain whether a box is display-damaged, combine documents from another branch, or promise that customer service can solve a problem before your flight. If the machine fails to dispense, use the support contact displayed on that machine rather than buying again immediately.
Official online China channel: useful only with delivery buffer
POP MART’s corporate reporting identifies its self-operated app and website, Pop Draw, and official marketplace channels as part of its China sales network. For a traveler, authenticity is only one part of the decision. You still need a working account, accepted payment, a precise mainland delivery address, a hotel willing to receive parcels, and enough days for delay or after-sales contact.
Ask the hotel before ordering. Put the reservation name, arrival date and phone number in the address exactly as the hotel requests. Do not use online delivery on your last one or two nights. A shipment that arrives after checkout can cost more time than the product is worth.
POP LAND: an attraction, not a stock shortcut
POP LAND in Beijing is an immersive themed park inside Chaoyang Park with retail, performances and THE MONSTERS environments. It can be worthwhile for a committed fan who wants the experience. It is not a free flagship shop, and a ticket does not reserve a product.
Choose POP LAND when the themed areas and entertainment justify the time and admission even if the item you want is sold out. For a simple purchase, use a regular official store on an existing shopping route.
Resale: exact selection, highest burden
Resale can solve a specific retired-series search, but the seller must prove more than possession of a box. Packaging, security labels and figures can be separated or replaced. A successful code lookup does not establish the full history of an opened item.
For any expensive resale purchase, require a written product description, condition, included accessories, packaging, code status, seller identity and remedy if the item is misdescribed. Inspect paint, seams, face alignment, joints, odors, stains and missing parts. If you cannot judge the item without a social-media comparison post, you do not yet have enough evidence for a high-price purchase.
Shanghai: the easiest visitor shopping plan
Shanghai is the strongest first choice when POP MART is one part of a broader Chinese-brand shopping day. Two official flagship anchors sit on East Nanjing Road, so a sold-out shelf does not have to become a cross-city chase.
The Shanghai government's current retail guide identifies:
- POP MART at Shimao Festival City, Rooms G03 and M03 on floors 1–2, 829 East Nanjing Road (南京东路829号上海世茂广场); and
- the global flagship at HY Plaza, Rooms S-105, 117, 206 and 207, 288 East Nanjing Road (南京东路288号宏伊国际广场).
These are stable route anchors, not stock promises. Check the official China channel and the mall’s same-day directory before traveling. Opening hours, releases and queue procedures can change.
Start near People’s Square and walk east. Visit Shimao first if its larger theatrical store is the experience you want. If the exact series is absent, do not assume HY Plaza received the same allocation; ask staff whether there is a confirmed official branch suggestion. Otherwise continue along Nanjing Road, use the Shanghai Chinese brands shopping route, and finish at the Bund. The two flagships are close enough to compare without sacrificing an afternoon.
Shanghai is also the easiest city here for combining collectibles with fashion, sportswear and technology counters. That makes it the best choice for a mixed-interest group. It is not evidence that Shanghai receives every launch first or has more LABUBU at any given moment.
Beijing: choose experience or efficiency
Beijing offers the clearest split between a brand experience and a normal shopping stop.
Choose POP LAND in Chaoyang Park when THE MONSTERS environments, performances and themed attractions are part of the trip. The Beijing government’s August 2026 update places it inside Chaoyang Park, about 200 meters from Zaoying Station Exit D on Line 14. Its published operating snapshot was 10:00–20:00 with last entry at 19:00, but you should recheck the official listing for your date because shows, night sessions, ticket rules and hours change.
Choose a regular official store in a mall already on your route when you mainly want a product. Beijing is too large for speculative branch hopping. Use the current official China locator or map result on the day, confirm that the listing says 泡泡玛特, and call the mall service desk if the trip depends on it. A regular store near your hotel can be a better purchase than a famous venue 45 minutes away.
Do not attach POP LAND to a Palace Museum or Great Wall day. It fits better with Chaoyang Park, the Liangma River or the Solana area. If you have one free shopping hour, stay within your existing district and treat POP LAND as a separate half-day attraction.
Shenzhen: efficient when you are already there
Shenzhen works well for mall-based shopping and short transit legs, especially if your itinerary already includes Futian or Nanshan. It is a poor reason to divert from Shanghai or Beijing solely for LABUBU stock. Release allocation and replenishment are too volatile to support a city-to-city bet.
Use a stable commercial anchor such as COCO Park in Futian or MixC World in Nanshan for the rest of your day, then verify a current official store or ROBOSHOP in that district through the official China channel and the mall directory. This wording is deliberate: tenants change, machines move and a map pin can outlive a branch. Do not travel to a Shenzhen address copied from an old social post without same-day confirmation.
Shenzhen is the easiest of the three cities for a compact “browse, compare, stop” session. Set a 60–90 minute window, then continue to the Civic Center, OCT-Loft or another planned area. Do not combine a toy-stock chase with Huaqiangbei; they are different buying problems, and neither becomes safer when you are tired.
A stock strategy that does not consume the trip
Social posts repeatedly show the same pattern: a replenishment notice appears, buyers travel, and the item is gone or unavailable at nearby branches. POP MART’s own public FAQ says popular items may sell out quickly and that a specific restock date may be unknown. Build a plan around that uncertainty.
Use one target, one fallback and one time limit
Write down:
- Target: exact official product and acceptable price from the official listing.
- Fallback: another series, a fixed-design item, or no purchase.
- Time limit: one district or two nearby official stores, not a whole city.
Take “有货” (in stock) as a momentary answer, not a reservation. Ask whether staff are describing sellable stock at this branch now, a display sample, an upcoming release or an online listing. If the item matters enough to queue, confirm the queue rule at the venue. Do not pay a stranger for a place in line or share identity credentials to bypass a limit.
Purchase caps can depend on the release, date, channel, account, phone number or identification rule. Staff and the official sale notice control. A limit reported yesterday is not a promise today, and a full set can count differently from individual boxes.
Check the product before you leave

For a sealed blind box, inspect the outer box, shrink wrap or seal, security label and corners. Decide how much packaging condition matters before payment. A collector who expects an undented display box should not accept a crushed corner and hope customer service treats it as a product defect.
For a fixed-design or displayable item, ask whether staff can confirm the parts list without breaking a seal that affects returns. For an already opened resale item, compare the figure with its stated edition and inspect all accessories. Strong chemical odor, sticky surfaces, mismatched parts or a seller refusing adequate light are reasons to stop.
Keep together:
- the item and all included parts;
- the original box and security label;
- the paper or digital receipt showing merchant, date and product;
- the payment record;
- photographs of exterior damage noticed at the counter; and
- any tax-refund application and invoice, kept separate from ordinary receipts.
If you open an expensive online order, record one continuous unboxing video from the unopened parcel through the product inspection. It does not guarantee a claim, but it creates clearer evidence of missing or damaged contents.
Authenticate in the right order
The strongest low-effort authenticity chain is official channel, intact product, matching receipt, then official verification. Reverse that order and a copied or transplanted code can create false confidence.
POP MART’s official authenticity instructions direct buyers to scratch the holographic box label, enter the code at its official verification service and review the result. Type the official domain yourself—m-gss.popmart.com—rather than following a reseller’s QR destination. The company’s service portal also includes after-sales requests and ticket tracking.
For an official-store purchase, perform verification when you can preserve the package and receipt. For resale, also check whether the code has been exposed, whether packaging and figure plausibly belong together, and whether the seller can document purchase history. “The code works” is one data point, not a complete appraisal.
Do not publish or send a clear photograph of an unused verification code. Someone else can scan it, confuse the later result or use the number in a counterfeit listing.
Returns: random result and product defect are different
An unwanted character is not the same issue as a faulty product. China’s State Administration for Market Regulation blind-box guideline says an online blind box may be excluded from the seven-day no-reason return after the seller gives a clear notice and the customer confirms it for that purchase. A full series sold with its contents clearly determined should follow the online seven-day no-reason return framework. Goods that fail quality requirements or do not match the seller’s express description still carry legal duties for return, replacement or repair.
For an in-person purchase, ask the branch’s rule before paying. Do not assume an unopened box can be returned for a change of mind, and do not open a blind box expecting to exchange an ordinary pull. Use these questions:
- 盲盒拆封后可以退换吗? — Can an opened blind box be returned or exchanged?
- 如果有质量问题,怎么处理? — What is the process if there is a quality defect?
- 需要保留哪些包装和凭证? — Which packaging and proof must I keep?
- 我离开中国以后还能申请售后吗? — Can I request after-sales service after leaving China?
Get the answer in writing when the item is expensive. If a defect is visible in the store, resolve it before leaving. Cross-border shipping for a replacement can erase the value of a modest collectible.
Departure tax refund: ask the branch, not the brand
POP MART as a brand is not automatically “tax free.” China’s departure VAT refund applies to eligible goods bought from a designated participating store. The current State Taxation Administration conditions set a threshold of at least RMB 200 by the same eligible overseas visitor at the same store on the same day. Goods must remain unused, leave with the traveler within the required window, and be available for customs verification when requested.
Before payment, show your passport and ask:
- 这家店可以办理离境退税吗? — Can this branch process a departure tax refund?
- 这个商品可以退税吗? — Is this item eligible?
- 请给我销售发票和离境退税申请单。 — Please provide the sales invoice and departure tax-refund application.
A mall advertising refunds does not prove every tenant participates. Two branches generally do not combine into “the same store,” and a ROBOSHOP may not issue the required application. If you use refund-upon-purchase, the store may require an agreement and credit-card pre-authorization; you still complete the departure process.
Do not open, use or attach a tax-refund collectible to your bag before departure. Keep the product accessible. The complete eligibility, document and airport sequence is in our China departure tax-refund guide; check it again shortly before your flight.
Pack the purchase for the flight and for customs

A standard vinyl figure or plush pendant normally creates a space problem rather than a dangerous-goods problem. Protect the product from crushing and moisture:
- Put the retail box inside a rigid outer carton or use firm corner protectors.
- Fill empty space with clean clothing or a soft pouch so the box cannot slide.
- Keep the security label, receipt and small accessories away from rubbing surfaces.
- Carry a high-value or fragile figure in cabin baggage when your airline’s size and weight allowance permits.
- Photograph the packed condition before checking any bag.
Some light-up, audio, earphone or electronic collaborations contain batteries. Check the product label instead of assuming that every “toy” is battery-free. IATA’s current passenger battery guidance treats electronic toys as portable electronic devices; spare batteries and power banks belong in carry-on baggage, protected from short circuit, and individual airlines can impose tighter rules. Remove a battery only if the instructions allow safe removal.
Your destination country controls import allowance, declarations and duty. One or two personal collectibles are a different customs story from a suitcase of identical sealed units. Quantity, total value and apparent resale intent can matter. Keep receipts, answer the declaration questions truthfully and check the rules for the country where you clear customs, including a transit country when applicable. Use our China arrival and customs guide for the inbound side of your trip.
Three realistic shopping plans
Shanghai: 2–3 hours without a stock chase
Start at People’s Square, visit the Shimao Festival City flagship, ask once about the exact item, then walk east toward HY Plaza only if you still want a second official comparison. Continue to the Bund or another Nanjing Road stop. This plan works even when LABUBU is sold out because the route remains a useful city walk.
Beijing: choose one half-day purpose
For the brand experience, reserve POP LAND and combine it with Chaoyang Park or the Liangma River area. For a purchase, choose one current official store near your existing district and skip the park. Mixing both goals into a single rushed afternoon adds transport and still cannot create stock.
Shenzhen: one district, one verification
Choose Futian or Nanshan based on your hotel and day plan. Use the official channel and mall directory to identify a currently operating official store or ROBOSHOP, spend no more than 90 minutes, then continue the district. Do not cross the city for a screenshot that lacks a timestamp and exact branch.
The final buying checklist
Buy when you can answer yes to all of these:
- I know the exact character, series, format and purchase unit.
- I would still like the product if it is an ordinary design rather than a hidden edition.
- The channel is official, authorized, or strong enough for the price and risk.
- The package and product condition match what I am paying for.
- I have a merchant receipt and know the defect process.
- I checked any branch-specific tax-refund eligibility before payment.
- The product fits my baggage and battery plan.
- The quantity and value fit my destination’s customs rules.
Walk away when the seller relies on urgency, a resale chart, a code shown only on their phone, a story about “inside stock,” or a limit-bypass service. The useful China purchase is the one you can identify, document, carry and enjoy—not the one that consumes the rest of the trip.
Store anchors, official sales-channel guidance, blind-box rules, departure-tax-refund conditions and battery guidance were checked on October 2, 2026. Stock, prices, release rules, purchase limits, opening hours and tax-refund participation remain live details; confirm them on the day.
