Wanning
Wanning is Hainan's east-coast chooser: Riyue Bay centers surfing, Shimei Bay and Shenzhou Peninsula suit a scenic coast day, and Xinglong adds plants, coffee and regional agricultural history away from the beach.

How many days
- Two days: one chosen coast base plus either the bay route or Xinglong.
- Three days: surf or beach day, coast route, then botanical garden and Xinglong food.
- Cut first: a second beach with similar weather before rushing every bay.

- Shimei Bay–Shenzhou Peninsula for viewpoints and a slower coast day.

Transport and base
Wanning, Shenzhou and the resort bays have different rail and road access. The 2026 tourist line improves connections, but live frequency and last service still control a car-free plan.
Stay near the service center or station for a mobile route. Choose an outer base only when its early access clearly outweighs another hotel change.
Weather and margin
Wind, swell, rain and typhoon alerts can change the coast more than the calendar. Swimming and surfing zones are operator- and lifeguard-dependent; never read calm photos as a safety signal.
Where to go next
Continue by east-ring rail to Haikou or Sanya, or choose Lingshui as another base. Avoid changing hotels for every bay unless the coast stay itself is the trip.
