Detian Waterfall: secure the Chinese-side visit, then choose the extras
Detian (德天跨国瀑布) spreads across several green tiers beside the China–Vietnam boundary, with karst peaks giving the water a scale that one viewpoint cannot capture. Its strongest visit is simple: protect the standard Chinese-side waterfall sequence, move from broad panorama to closer cascades, and add only the product that improves your day.

“Transnational” is a geographic name, not a border permission. The ordinary Chinese-side ticket, raft and sightseeing bus do not include entry into Vietnam. This guide does not treat the separate cooperation-zone product as part of the standard visit.
A useful viewing order
Begin with the broad waterfall-and-karst composition. Then move through the managed viewing sequence toward the lower, closer tiers, where the texture and separate channels become easier to read. Finish with the highest available overview included in your selected product; it is more useful after you understand the width of the cascade.

Recent visitor reports commonly fit the core waterfall experience into roughly two to three hours, but that does not include every add-on, queue or transport delay. Arrive early enough to enjoy the standard route before deciding whether another ride improves it.
Ticket, entry and passport boundary
The operator surface showed a general 07:30–18:30 opening baseline when checked on 21 August 2026. Recheck the selected date: final entry, holiday capacity, night sessions, raft and other products can have different limits.
The exact Trip.com admission-plus-sightseeing-bus package explicitly covers scenic admission and the sightseeing bus for its named package. It does not promise a raft, electric cart, elevated route, slide, night product or Vietnam access. Confirm the meeting point and redemption message after booking, submit the requested traveler details, and carry the original passport or other accepted ID.
A 22 April 2026 operator notice documented a staffed-window route for foreign visitors during a holiday reservation period. Treat that as a practical fallback, not a promise for every date: leave margin for manual handling and confirm the current process before travel.
Arrive at the correct outside node
Road transport should target the Detian Waterfall Visitor Distribution Centre on S325, not a generic waterfall pin. AMap measured about 10.1 km / 25 minutes by road from that outside arrival node to the core scenic-area identity on 21 August 2026. That distance proves the nodes are distinct; it does not prove a public internal shuttle, its price or its timetable. Your exact ticket or operator must explain the transfer.

From Mingshi, the dated road model to the Detian distribution centre was about 26.8 km / 43 minutes by car. From Chongzuo South Station it was about 105.6 km / 1 hour 55 minutes. Arrange a live road transfer; neither estimate is a scheduled shuttle.
Water and weather shape the view
The broad seasonal pattern is fuller flow from about April to October and a drier period from November to March, but rain, upstream management and annual conditions matter. Come for the tiered border landscape rather than a guaranteed volume or photograph. Wet steps and spray favor shoes with grip; heavy rain, high water or lightning can change add-ons before the main land route.

The cleanest plan is standard China-side route first, one explicit extra second, and no assumption that a scenic ticket opens an international border.
