Macau Visa Policy Overview
Macau SAR operates an independent visa policy from mainland China and Hong Kong. The policy includes visa-free access for many nationalities, visa-on-arrival options, and formal visa requirements for others.
Types of Entry Arrangements
1. Visa-Free Access
Available to holders of specific documents:
- Macau Permanent Identity Card
- Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card
- Hong Kong Re-entry Permits
- Taiwan Compatriot Permit
- Passports from 79 eligible countries
2. Visa-Required Entry
Required for:
- Nationalities not eligible for visa-free entry
- Extended stays beyond visa-free period
- Work, study, or business activities
- Special purposes (training, employment, etc.)
